BY AEROPLANE Agriturismo Trieste is only 40 minutes drive from Pisa airport. For example, Ryanair fly there 2 to 4 times a day from Stansted airport. Car hire is available at the airport and the exit from the airport car park leads straight onto the superstrada in the direction of Lajatico. Only the last kilometre leading to Trieste is on 'strada bianca'. Firenze (Florence) airport is slightly further than Pisa airport, but is another simple option for arrival. |

BY TRAIN The nearest stations are at Pontedera (buses run regularly from here to Lajatico) and Pisa (where car hire is available). BY CAR Driving from the UK is not too daunting. From Calais the distance is approximately 920 miles and all but 20 miles can be on autoroute/autostrada (€130 including tunnel toll, one way). A comfortable 1½ - 2 days drive with the attraction of crossing the Alps and experiencing the amazing engineering of the viaducts and tunnels from Genoa to La Spezia. |
